The Evolving Mind Behind the Book, 'RAMJAS: THE AAZADI EPISODE'
Not all heroes are exalted, some don't even realize they are heroes and there are some who needs to be applauded for their unassuming gallantry. Meet Vaibhav Yadav, all of 20 and a final year student of History honours at the prestigious Delhi University's Ramjas College.

A youth filled with dreams from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, Vaibhav came to Delhi University for his higher studies and was content being the regular college going boy until he started noticing changes in the environment. It was in his final year that he largely noticed the tension in the college campus diluting the environment. Alarming as it may seem when the temple of learning becomes a breeding ground for violence and aggression born out of ideological differences. Adding to the primary motivation of his social consciousness was the erstwhile Ramjas College turmoil.
A rather life-changing experience which induced a lot of introspection and it was this tryst that powerfully impacted his thought process.
An incident that shed light on things which he would have otherwise not realized. Living in a society where people with strong personal beliefs are considered 'right ring or conservative', he believes it is hard to have rock solid beliefs. This led him to understand that a person's professional or personal credibility should not be doubted because of the individual's beliefs and understandings.
He credits the incident for being a life-changing experience that revealed the deep thinker and the empathetic side of him. Incidentally, it also brought out the writer in him as he frequently documented his thoughts on the incident to words. He believed that the best way to make a lasting contribution was through this book titled, 'RAMJAS: THE AAZADI EPISODE'. He wanted to ensure that fellow youngsters start thinking consciously, take intelligent decisions and not be subjected to the wrath of such environment. It's his belief that every young person that walks into the campus be inculcated with a sense of integrity and discipline through his writings.
It was during this uprising that Vaibhav wrote an open letter announcing his support for someone whose ideology differed from his. He extended the support solely out of personal respect for the individual and believes everyone should leave ideological differences aside and stand by each other as fellow humans.
Talking about the experience and his moment of epiphany Vaibhav comments, "It is every youngster's prerogative to help the environment around them and grow in positive light. If we allow differences in thinking to come in the way then we would continue existing in a society filled with violence generated solely out of opinion difference. Respecting differences should be the mainstay of us young minds as we are the foundation for tomorrow's better India."
His personality as someone who is for positive developments can also be witnessed in the social service initiative, 'Mission Zindagi' which he and few of his college friends started. It came into being as an act to offer education to the workers of an ongoing construction in the campus.
Vaibhav is one youngster that sets the tone on how it is possible for the youth to experience an awakening and express themselves sans aggression amidst unpleasant trysts and circumstances.
