-Sohan Patil from Aurangabad and Pravin Durgam from Solapur are the 1st and 2nd Runners-Up respectively.
Datta Shelke from Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad, emerged as the winner of the SEED Maha IT - Idol 2016. Sohan Patil from Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad, was the 1st runner-up and the third position was bagged by Praveen Durgam from N. K. Orchid College of Engineering, Solapur. The competition was held at Hotel Le Meridien in Pune on 30th March 2016.

Top ten winners from various cities in Maharashtra participated in the final round of competition held at Pune on 30th March 2016.
Datta Shelkewas was presented with a Asus Laptop and was felicitated with the prestigious Puneri Pagadi whereas, the candidates who stood the second and third position were presented with the 2TB hard disk and a 1TB hard disk respectively, by Mr. Narendra Barhate, MD and CEO, SEED Infotech Ltd. and Ms. Bharati Barhate, Executive Director, SEED Infotech Ltd. The winners also got trophies and certificates of merit for their achievement.
Many universities in the state of Maharashtra associate with SEED IT Idol and extend all possible support, so that maximum number of students will participate in this competition. This year, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Mumbai University and University of Solapur supported this competition in their respective regions.
