A public school teacher for 31 years, Rafe Esquith has lead his class of fifth graders of Room 56 at Hobart Elementary School, a high-poverty school in Los Angeles, to attend the finest colleges in the world. The school, where most students drop out before high-school, his students go to top colleges.
Author of several bestselling books like 'Real Talk for Real Teachers' and 'Teach Like Your Hair's on Fire', Rafe is the only K-12 teacher in history to be honored with 'National Medal of the Arts' by the President in 2003.
