XSEED Kicks off 'Yatra' Across 4 States in Southern India
BANGALORE, July 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
XSEED, a global K-8 learning company, today announced the start of its annual school ideas program across 4 states, titled the 'Yatra'. This campaign will have a team of XSEED members visiting over 40 schools across Coimbatore, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, where the XSEED program has been implemented. Scheduled from July 10 to July 14, 2017, 'Yatra' is aimed towards facilitating a meaningful engagement between the company, schools, parents, teachers and children, to understand and incorporate the evolving needs and trends to make the program more relevant and meaningful in imparting quality education. It provides XSEED with the opportunity for focused product development based on the ongoing challenges faced by schools. The XSEED program is being used by more than 1 million children across 3000 schools, with more than 75,000 teachers trained over the last few years.
Kicking off the 6th edition of Yatra, Founder and CEO, XSEED, Ashish Rajpal said, "Today, children must become skilled thinkers and problem solvers to engage in the 21st century. However, the schooling system today continues to focus rigidly on memorization rather than on nourishing intellectual creativity. This is a direct result of impersonalized, one size fits all approach and outdated teaching practices present not just in India but different parts of the globe. Hence, to instill quality in education, XSEED's approach is radical and driving tremendous impact. We are currently working with 3000 schools and hoping to impact 10000 schools in the next 5 years."
XSEED is a proven and research-based academic program for schools that build thinking skills and problem solving confidence in children in their formative years between 3 to 13 years. Aimed at transforming education globally from rote to learning and from telling to teaching, it is a comprehensive teaching toolkit for educating children based on XSEED's 5-Step Learning Process. It comprises over 10,000, comprehensive, researched teaching plans to help XSEED trained teachers uncover and share each concept, step-by-step. Year round coaching and training in the classroom further empowers teachers with know-how and confidence necessary to continuously uplift classroom practice. A special weekly digital module, XSEED DX, helps reinforce concepts and updates parents regularly.
XSEED provides books, question banks for internal exams, an evaluation system as well as curriculum. XSEED programs are adapted to the existing system and infrastructure of schools that have CBSE, ICSE, IGSE, ISCS and state board curriculums. Children benefit from using hands-on experiences and reflective analysis, modern texts, application workbooks to ensure problem-solving practice, and skills-focused assessments provide personalized feedback to every child. XSEED serves as a comprehensive 'elementary school in a box' virtually anywhere. XSEED has a unique assessment system for students and teachers with their in-house innovation called 'Learnometre' and the 'Blue scale'. Further, a team of 100 education coaches, work with the schools teachers, where refresher training sessions are conducted every 6-8 weeks.
Speaking on the effectiveness of XSEED and its impact, Mrs. Sumalini, Principal, Silicon City Academy of Secondary Education, Bangalore said, "Traditional education is teaching children for the jobs that may not exist in the future. Qualifications are not enough; abilities have to be developed in children. With XSEED, concepts are understood well, real skills are developed, and the child is able to apply these in everyday life."
Speaking on the importance of 'Yatra', Mr. Rajpal further added, "The 4 southern states i.e. Tamil Nadu, AP, Telangana and Karnataka have embraced XSEED better than any other region in India. While a quarter of our million students on XSEED program come from Tamil Nadu, we have about 100 schools in greater Bangalore and about 300 across Karnataka. The annual 'Yatra' is our commitment to the schools for valuable exchange of feedback and support our learning curve in pursuing quality education. We believe in the cause of education and strive to support the national agenda of quality education in every way possible."
