YES BANK developed the 'Digital Diya' campaign targeting the Indian community to join, in celebrating Diwali. The idea was to light the diya of knowledge, happiness and prosperity. The objective was that through this initiative and with the support of the people, YES BANK, under its recently launched initiative aimed to impart financial literacy across 50 villages by illuminating the lives of thousands of people in rural India.

It was an incredibly simple idea: Every visit to the microsite (http://www.thedigitaldiya.in) by a user lit up a diya. For every Digital Diya lit by visiting the website, YES BANK added an equal amount of funds (in INR) towards spreading digital financial literacy. The number of website visits kept increasing as and when a diya was lit.
Diwali is about lighting up people's lives and positive emotions. The success of this campaign was measured by the number of diyas lit. Through rigorous online and offline promotions, YES BANK managed to light more than one million diyas.
