Zuari Cement inaugurated its solar power project at Yerraguntla on 9th July 2013, a bold initiative towards energy sustainability in line with the Italcementi Group energy policy. The plant will produce 850MWh of energy per annum and will form part of the power mix for plant operations. Our Managing Director, Mr. Nabil Francis during the inaugural ceremony emphasized on the company's commitment towards sustainable development and the project alignment with Group goals on energy efficiency.

Our company's energy policy endorses the need to move towards a low-carbon economy and to play an active role in finding feasible solutions in the field of energy efficiency and climate protection. Italcementi Group promotes actions to provide fast and effective responses to climate change by,

This plant will be the first-of-its-kind amongst the cement companies located in the Yerraguntla cluster in Andhra Pradesh. The plant houses 2250 solar PV modules with synchronization at 440v coupled with 18 inverters and a plant load factor in the range of 23-25%.
Zuari Cement is also exploring options for investments in a wind farm to add to its basket of sustainable energy.
