Zuari Cement Setting up the Largest Port Based Cement Terminal in Kochi, Kerala

Zuari Cement Limited is setting up the largest port based cement packing terminal at Kochi Port Trust, Ernakulam wharf, Kerala. The unit will have a capacity of 1 million tonne of cement per annum, expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2015. This plant envisages an investment of 15 million euros and will be strategically a very important investment in India.

The Kochi terminal will cater to Zuari Cement's market expansion plans in southern India and possible exports. The strategic location of the unit will add an edge to the expansion of our services to different parts of the country through inland navigation and the shipping channel.

The ground-breaking ceremony was held on 22 April 2014. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Roberto Callieri (Zone Director for the group), Mr. Nabil Francis (Managing Director Zuari Cement), Mr. Krishna Srivastava (Wholetime Director), Mr. Ramesh Suryanarayana (Director Business Development), Mr. Srinivasan Sundaram (Sr. VP - Projects), Mr. Jacob Mathew (Head - Image and Communication) and other senior executives of Zuari Cement.
