Babajob, India's largest multi-platform livelihood marketplace, that facilitates jobs for the entry-level sector, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Govt. of Karnataka as part of a collaborative effort to scale-up the employment ecosystem in the state.

The purpose of the MoU is to enable Babajob to help millions of aspiring job seekers across Karnataka with access to better jobs and better lives, a mission that resonates very well with Invest Karnataka.
At this global investors meet, Bharani Setlur, Chief Business Officer, and Akshay Chaturvedi, Head of Outreach & Partnerships, at the Bangalore-based Babajob, met the Hon'ble Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who lauded their efforts. The CM commended Babajob's success for the IVR-way of connecting with the informal workforce and their play of innovation in reaching out to the bottom billion. He pointed out that a positive impact in this sector is critical to the overall growth of the state.
He mentioned that over the past few years the state has seen unprecedented growth, especially in Bengaluru, with the boom in the IT sector. Even cities like Mangaluru, Hubli, Udupi, Belagavi and Mysore have shown great promise. With the objective of helping the state economy flourish, information about Babajob and its services will be included in all employment-related public communication from the Government of Karnataka.
At the event, state Industries Minister R.V. Deshpande engaged in a compelling discussion with the Babajob team. He promised to support their outreach to the entire job-seeking population of Karnataka.
Invest Karnataka 2016 opened up to a grand success. The impressive line-up of corporates, industrialists, foreign dignitaries and politicians here indicated that the state is leaving no stone unturned to reap the benefits of potential business opportunities and economic growth in the country. The first initiative of its kind in the state, it recorded investments of about INR 3.08 trillion out of which INR. 1.33 trillion are in the form of 121 MoUs.
