On the morning of October 18, 2022, The Al Kharsaah, an 800MW solar power plant in Qatar has been connected to the grid at full capacity. The plant located 80-kilometres west of the capital, Doha, is the world's largest photovoltaic project using a tracking system and bifacial modules, and the third largest single photovoltaic power station in the world so far.

As Qatar's first non-fossil fuel power station, it has been written into Qatar National Vision 2030.
