This enrolment is the single largest live on-boarding of customers done by any mobile wallet anywhere. This activation follows the footsteps of the successful pilot program done in September 2015 by MOM Wallet at Whistling Woods International (WWI) at Mumbai, where over 700 students were enrolled during WWI's annual 'Celebrate Cinema' festival and further on facilitating cashless transactions at the cafeteria on campus for students, staff and faculty. MCE Society's Azam Campus becomes the second to go completely cashless.
According to Shashank Joshi, Managing Director, My Mobile Payments Ltd, "Our activation at the Azam Campus is perhaps the single largest on-boarding of customers by any m-wallet brand in the country. This takes us one step further towards realizing our goal of going completely cashless by the end of the decade."
Speaking on the occasion, President of M.C.E. Society, P.A. Inamdar said, "Since our inception in 1948, our campus has always believed in 'walking the talk' and thus when we decided to make our campus digital, going cashless was the next logical step. This initiative will ensure that there is full accountability from the canteens and at the same time convenience to the users. We decided to partner with MOM Wallet because the app is easy to use, we trust their capabilities and believe that their service is excellent."
Now students on both these campuses can make small ticket transactions like canteen, parking, photocopying, restaurants in and around the campus using their MOM wallets. Soon, they shall also be able to pay their fees and avail library services using their MOM wallet, as also avail any other service such as mobile top-ups, pay utility bills, book movie tickets, DTH recharges etc.
