Nuvoco Wins the Golden Peacock Occupational Health & Safety Award 2019

Receives special commendation for its Chittorgarh Cement Plant

Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd., a leading building materials company, has been conferred with the globally acclaimed Golden Peacock Occupational Health & Safety Award 2019 (GPOHSA). The awards ceremony was held in Bengaluru in the presence of a distinguished gathering of business leaders. Nuvoco bagged the award for its integrated approach and making significant achievements in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.

The award was presented by M. N. Venkatachaliah, Former Chief Justice of India; R Madhawan, MD Hindustan Aeronautics Limited; Lt. Gen. Jaswant Singh Ahluwalia, President Institute of Directors (organizers of world congress and awards) to Mr. Raghavendrarao Jahagirdar, Vice President, Chittorgarh Cement Plant (CCP) and Shailendra Kumar, Assistant General Manager, Health and Safety. The applications are assessed on an exhaustive set of parameters and are checked at three levels by independent assessors and finally by a grand jury. Nuvoco won the award for initiatives like Health and Safety Management System, Area Ownership, IMS Certification, and the company's overall Health Safety and Environment system with a goal of Zero Harm.

The award was instituted by the Institute of Directors (IOD) in 1991 and is considered as a benchmark in setting standards in occupational health and safety. The awards aim to promote business excellence by providing a framework or criteria for assessment that is based on principles of global excellence.
