Alexander Nachman, America's Leading Cannabis Advocate, Writes "The Golden Calf: A Modern Day Tale of Lies and Corruption, and Our Nation's Fall From Grace"
NEW YORK, Aug. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Alexander Nachman, America's "Pitbull of Pot" and expert on the cannabis industry, wrote about the hypocrisy of the United States Government's stance on medical marijuana.
Synthetic THC has been FDA approved since 1985 and is currently listed as a Schedule III drug. Currently over 20 U.S. Pharmaceutical firms are working on cannabis-based medicines that will mimic, reproduce, and create bio-identical cannabinoid molecules to be turned into pharmaceutical medicine.
Ironically, the DEA just ruled that Marijuana – the actual plant – will remain a Schedule I drug with "no medicinal value," and is in the same category as drugs like Heroin and LSD.
"This is extraordinary," says Nachman. "The United States government says cannabis has no medicinal value, yet a bio-identical synthetic version is safe. Could this be because the government wants the pharmaceutical industry to have control over the cannabis industry?"
To draw a parallel, this is as if the government successfully cloned a cow, and told us that the milk and meat of the cloned cow are safe to ingest, yet that we should be afraid of the organically grown and unmodified, original cow.
The real story is this cloned cow is another "golden calf" that is owned and operated by the highly influential Pharmaceutical industry, who has our government tucked inside their deep pockets.
On the one hand, government officials consistently denied that marijuana has any medical benefits. On the other, the government actually holds patents for the medical use of cannabis.
US Patent 6630507 titled "Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants" assigned to the United States of America, states:
"Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of a wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Cannabinoids have particular application as neuroprotectants, and in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia."
"So the DEA tells us that cannabis has no medicinal value, yet the same government, in their patent, states the virtues of cannabis as a medicine," Nachman wrote. "Clearly, the American public is not being told the truth."
