Fuddruckers®, Home Of The "World's Greatest Hamburgers"® Rolls Out A Great Tasting, Gluten-Free Bun Option
HOUSTON, March 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Gluten sensitive diners can now indulge their burger and hotdog cravings at Fuddruckers. The Texas-born fast casual chain, which has won legions of fans for its house-baked bread, is in the process of rolling out a gluten-free bun option in partnership with Dallas-based Local Oven.
According to Peter Tropoli, Chief Operating Officer, "While we pride ourselves on our made from scratch items, Local Oven has developed a truly premium product that not only speaks to the dietary restrictions of millions of people, but also delivers with the texture and taste that our customers have come to expect from our traditional buns."
Dallas guests were the first to experience the new offerings, which are also free of preservatives, dairy, corn and soy, earlier this month thanks to franchisees Daltex Restaurant Management, Inc., operator of nine Dallas area locations, and Delaware North Companies, the operator of a Fuddruckers location at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Starting this week, Fuddruckers will be introducing the buns to their corporate locations in Texas and Oklahoma with nationwide availability to follow.
Local Oven was founded by Linda Fitzerman in 2011 following her own gluten intolerance diagnosis. Unimpressed with the products on the market and unable to find anything that tasted like real, delicious bread, Fitzerman decided to launch her own manufacturing facility.
Since 1980, Fuddruckers has been obsessed with doing it better than anyone else and making the world happier, one great hamburger at a time. Grilled-to-order burgers feature always fresh and never frozen, 100% USDA premium-cut beef with no fillers or additives.
