New "Program Manager's Guide to Prepaid Issuing Banks" Provides Visibility into Opaque Prepaid Sponsorship Market
JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla., April 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Corby & Company, Inc., (C&C) a leading provider of consulting and program management services to the prepaid industry, today announced the online publication of the "Program Manager's Guide to Prepaid Issuing Banks." The guide is in response to the prepaid industry's fragmented value chain that makes it difficult for prospective program managers and distributors to find issuing bank partners. The guide provides a convenient source of information about banks in the prepaid business to improve efficiency in the prepaid market, and will be published on a quarterly basis moving forward.
"The disjointed nature of the prepaid space has made it difficult and time consuming for third party program managers and financial institutions to connect," said Cathy Corby Parker, President of Corby & Company, Inc. "C&C developed this guide to take the guess work out of that process. As the industry learns more about the guide we expect its size to grow with each quarterly publication."
The "Program Manager's Guide to Prepaid Issuing Banks" is published on the Corby & Company website at www.corbyandcompany.com. The guide includes information on the types of programs and partners that fit each issuing bank's business model, as well as general information on the institution's prepaid program. Contact information for the participating issuers is also provided.
"Prepaid continues to be the fastest growing form of payments because consumers and business alike see the strong value, convenience and efficiency these products bring to the marketplace," said Kirsten Trusko, President and Executive Director of the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association (NBPCA). "We applaud Corby & Company's publication of this guide as a way to help those already invested in prepaid, or looking to enter the market. This guide will help program managers and issuing banks form effective partnerships to fuel continued positive growth in the prepaid industry."
The first version of the guide, published today, includes participation from nine financial institutions that are active in the U.S. prepaid card market. The guide will be updated quarterly and C&C expects to add several new financial institutions with each publication. Of the participating banks, all but two are below $10 billion in assets and able to extend exemption from the Durbin Amendment interchange caps to their clients.
