Steinway Craftsman Presents "Sante's Workshop" at Chicago Piano Galleries in Northbrook and Hinsdale on Saturday December 10 and Sunday December 11

OAKBROOK, Ill., Dec. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Steinway Piano Galleries of Northbrook and Hinsdale will be presenting "Sante's Workshop: The Making of the Legendary Steinway Louis XV Piano" on December 10 and 11. Sante Auriti, a native of Italy who emigrated to the US in 1979 to continue his craftsmanship at Steinway & Sons, will demonstrate the age old techniques of hand crafting one of the world's most elegant pianos. One can experience first-hand how the Louis XV piano is reproduced in the same precise fashion as in 18th Century France, with master craftsman Sante Auriti's hand carving expertise on display for all to see.

"Having started my own career as a technician in the famous Steinway basement workshop on 57th Street where these remarkable pianos come to life, I often had the opportunity to cross over the East River to the Steinway Factory in Queens to see Sante's artistry and talent at work.
