TORONTO, April 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Two of the world's top travel couples have teamed up to compete in the first annual Globetrotting Challenge, the social media event of the year! This year's challenge will be a ten-country, ten-day adventure with the teams racing from Turkey to Tuscany as they take on 10 challenges.

The contestants that will take on 10 countries in 10 days and 10 different challenges.

The Globetrotting Challenge pits well-known travel influencers Laurence and Jessica Norah of Finding the Universe and Independent Travel Cats against Dave and Deb of ThePlanetD on a good-humored, fast-paced overland journey from Turkey to Tuscany. Behind the scenes, top travel blogger Gary Arndt of Everything-Everywhere will be the taskmaster providing the couples with their challenges and checkpoints and tracking their progress throughout the race. At the end of the race, the winners will be crowned the Savviest Travel Couple of the year at a luxurious Italian Villa.

Throughout the journey, the couples will engage in a number of physical and intellectual challenges, highlighting the cultural aspects and unique activities of the destinations they visit, from racing rowboats across Lake Bled in Slovenia to haggling in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar. All will be captured in real time through their combined 6.4 million social media followers showcasing all the fun, struggles, and quirks of racing through 10 countries in 10 days.
