2011 Domestic Box Office Up For Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Bucking the national industry 3.4% drop in domestic box office, Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas announced today that their domestic box office sales increased for 2011, up 2.6% over 2010 sales.  The figure encompasses all locations in the circuit that have been open since January 2010.  Total net sales, including figures from the cinema eatery's food & beverage sales, were up 4.8% since 2010.

2012 is already shaping up to be a big year for Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas with two new locations scheduled to open and the announcement of the Alamo's first location in the Washington DC area.  Alamo Slaughter Lane will be the fifth location in Austin, TX and Alamo Aspen Grove in Denver marks the theater's first location in the state of Colorado.
