2012 Breakbulk Americas Conference Highlights Regions to Watch for Project Cargo Growth, Events Set Charitable Donation Record

The event was held Oct. 8-11 2012 at the George R. Brown Convention Center and Hilton Americas in Houston.

The conference program, "Navigating the Economic Tempest" showcased industry leaders and noted analysts during four days of education sessions and conference panel discussions, which addressed the outlook for the project cargo market, contract negotiations, challenges of mega-projects, as well as the hot regions to watch in the industry and the oil, gas, mining, metals and power generation sectors. 

In addition to the conference program and bustling exhibition hall, Breakbulk Americas 2012 hosted Breakbulk Education Day; the Rickmers Golf Tournament, which raised more than $14,000 for the Houston Maritime Museum; the Breakbulk Business Run which raised over $6,000 for Texas A&M Galveston's Maritime Program; the VIP Leadership Summit sponsored by Port Freeport; Project Professionals Group's project forwarder training and certificate program in project cargo management; and a heavy-lift technical workshop taught by Proven Logistics Solutions.
