21st Century Insurance to Host Fundraising Car Wash August 10 to Help Downingtown Marching Band get to 2011 Rose Parade

WILMINGTON, Del., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The "Road to Pasadena" for the Downingtown High School (East and West) marching band will make a stop on Tuesday, August 10 at the offices of 21st Century Insurance and Financial Services, Inc., a member of Farmers® Insurance Group, located at 3 Beaver Valley Road in Wilmington, Delaware.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the 10th, members of the marching band, their families, and other supporters will be washing cars to raise funds to help pay the costs of travel, housing and transportation for the over 300 high school musicians participating in the parade and their instruments.

"As fellow residents of the greater Delaware Valley region, we can't help but be excited for the Downingtown marching band on their invitation to participate in the New Year's Day Tournament of Roses® parade," said Tony DeSantis, president of 21st Century Insurance.  "Once it was announced that Downingtown had been invited, we began thinking about how we might help the band members defray their costs.  The upcoming car wash is just one of several activities we have planned to help raise funds for the band."

In addition to washing cars, the band members will sell commemorative Rose Parade pins, Downingtown Marching Band pins and raffle tickets for the opportunity to win a trip to the 122nd Tournament of Roses parade, among other fabulous prizes.

The Rose Parade is the most-watched parade in the world and features elaborately designed floral floats, leading marching bands from the US and other nations and top equestrian teams displaying a number of different riding styles and featuring a variety of horse breeds.
