CHICAGO, March 19, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- 280 CapMarkets® continues its growth trajectory as part of its mission to serve registered investment advisors (RIAs) who invest in individual bonds. The firm has opened a new office in Chicago which includes a dedicated U.S. Government Agency desk.
"Our expansion into the Midwest, and the acceleration of the adoption, usage, and engagement of our BondNav® technology, demonstrate the need in the marketplace we are filling for not only municipal bonds, but also investment-grade and high-yield corporate bonds, and other taxable products," said Gurinder Ahluwalia, Co-Founder and CEO of 280 CapMarkets. "Our growth is key to carrying out our mission to give advisors and investors across the country the clarity, confidence, and technology they need to make better fixed-income investment decisions."
"280 CapMarkets continues to deliver superior access and execution. While BondNav allows us to easily compare bonds to the universe of offerings and institutional pricing, the trading team behind the technology consistently delivers best-in-class execution," said Mike Galanowsky, Senior Portfolio Manager at One Capital Management. "280 CapMarkets is without a doubt a key partner for us in delivering fixed-income products and capabilities to our clients."

- David Monks recently joined 280 CapMarkets as Head of Government Agency Trading. Mr. Monks has more than 28 years of fixed-income trading and underwriting experience, and spent over 18 years working at Stifel Nicolaus, where he was instrumental in building the agency desk into a significant regional player. Mr. Monks was head of the Stifel Nicolaus agency desk, and the firm's lead agency underwriter, for more than 10 years.
- Pete Buinauskas joins the firm as Director, Institutional Sales. Mr. Buinauskas has more than 25 years of experience specializing in rates and mortgage-backed securities sales. He was most recently Senior Vice President at BB&T Capital Markets, and prior to that, worked for R.W. Baird and RBC.

"David, Pete, and Matt possess the experience, leadership, and in-depth knowledge to help us continue to level the fixed-income playing field," said Alex Buchler, Co-Head of Institutional Sales for 280 CapMarkets.
