A ONE-NIGHT ONLY EVENT INSPIRED BY THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS
CHICAGO, Aug. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Join us as we partner with Ada Street, named Zagat's "50 Best Restaurants in Chicago" in September 2016, to craft an indulgent evening of food, drink, music, and story all exploring the Seven Deadly Sins. Fresh off the release of her recent novel The Wrong Way to Save Your Life, 2nd Story company member Megan Stielstra will perform a series of original stories inspired by and in response to each sin. A full sensory experience, Stielstra, who has been hailed as a 'masterful essayist' by Roxane Gay, will have each story underscored by live music, including saxophonist Dave Rempis (daverempis.com).

Amanda Delheimer Dimond is a director, movement director, teaching artist, and playwright who believes that people coming together to tell and bear witness to stories has the power to change the world. After completing her Master's in Theater and Spanish at the University of Chicago in 1999, Amanda worked in Los Angeles and Mexico before returning home to Chicago. She has served as the Artistic Director of 2nd Story since 2007, and is also an Ensemble Member with Lifeline Theatre. When she's not running 2nd Story or making plays at Lifeline, Amanda spends her time working as a Strategic Planning Consultant with Lookingglass Theatre Company and directing the Goodman's summer program for teens. She was an inaugural recipient of the Leadership U: One-on-One Fellowship, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by the Theatre Communications Group. She is also in the inaugural artEquity Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Facilitator cohort, funded by the Mellon Foundation and hosted by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
Megan Stielstra is the author of three collections, including The Wrong Way to Save Your Life, forthcoming this August from Harper Perennial. Her work appears in Best American Essays, the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Buzzfeed, Poets & Writers, Guernica, the Rumpus, and elsewhere. A longtime company member with 2nd Story, she has told stories for National Public Radio, Radio National Australia, Museum of Contemporary Art, Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, the Neo-Futurarium, and regularly with The Paper Machete live news magazine at The Green Mill. She teaches creative nonfiction at Northwestern University
