3D Mammography and 3D Breast Ultrasound Available Now in a Chicago Spa-like Setting

CHICAGO, Dec. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ella Health, an innovative women's wellness company, and radiology services provider Advanced Medical Imaging Center are making it easier for women in the Chicagoland area to take care of their health with 3D breast cancer screening exams and 3D Breast ultrasound provided in a setting designed to be more like a relaxing spa than a clinic.
The center is the only out-patient imaging facility providing both 3D mammography and SOFIA 3D Breast ultrasound in downtown Chicago.

The 3D mammography system has been shown to increase the likelihood of detecting invasive breast cancer by up to 41 percent while reducing the number of call backs by up to 40 percent. During a 3D exam, multiple images of the breast are taken at different angles. These images are compiled and viewed as a 3D reconstruction. All mammograms are read by board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists and results are generally available during the appointment.
Women with dense breasts will be referred for an immediate 3D ultrasound. This painless and quick procedure creates a map of the breast. It is used with a mammogram to better detect cancer in women with dense breasts.
