WASHINGTON, Aug. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Academy of United States Veterans (AUSV) and Coalition to Salute America's Heroes announced today that they will co-host the 3rd Annual Veterans Awards at the Mayflower Hotel. The Vettys® will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Washington, D.C.
The theme for the awards ceremony this year will be unity. The Vettys® will be a nonpartisan celebration of the tremendous achievements of the veterans community and will benefit the Academy of United States Veterans Foundation, Paralyzed Veterans of America and Coalition to Salute America's Heroes.
The official voting committee will consist of prominent members of the veterans' community and will be announced on Veterans Day 2017. Nominations are conducted through an open submission process. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 and will represent seven categories. Categories are as follows:

Employment
Community
Leadership
Veterans Choice
Honorary Vetty
The Vettys® was established as an annual event that recognizes the most impactful entities and individuals that contribute to the well-being of the veterans' community.
The Academy of the United States Veterans Foundation is a nonprofit organization promoting and recognizing veterans' projects to educate the public on their value, while also encouraging a unified veterans' community.
