The following are the top 4 propane cylinder do's and don'ts:

  1. A propane cylinder should always be stored outside of your home – never inside of your home or any other enclosed space, such as a garage.
  2. When transporting a cylinder or when it is not in use, keep it secured in an upright position with the cylinder valve turned off.
  3. Make sure to read the warning labels attached to the cylinder.
  4. When using, storing or transporting propane cylinders, make sure they are not exposed to high temperatures because the pressure relief valve may open, allowing amounts of gas to escape.
