4Sight Technologies Signs Agreement with Largest Private University in Panama to Establish Work-Study Program for Technology Students

BOSTON, Oct. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- 4Sight Technologies (www.4sighttech.com), a global leader in Business Intelligence (BI), Resource Optimization, and Continuous Improvement Enterprise Software and IT Professional services, signed a Cooperative Framework Agreement with the Universidad Catolica Santa Maria La Antigua (USMA) in Panama to propagate academic, technological and cultural collaboration between the two organizations. In partnering with the largest private university in Panama, 4Sight kicks off its social responsibility initiative to foster technology education through collaboration with major universities, private corporations and public sector organizations.

USMA is the largest and oldest private university in Panama boasting 3,000 students, 500 professors and more than 80 academic programs from undergraduate to post graduate. Its four regional locations are spread across the country in Panama City; Colon, Panama; David, Chiriqui, Panama; and La Villa de Los Santos, Los Santos, Panama. Representatives from both organizations met at the university to witness Professor Carlos Voloj Pereira, University President, USMA, and Temistocles Arjona, General Manager of Latin America and the Caribbean, 4Sight, sign the agreement in October 2013.

The agreement sets up a blueprint for creating a successful work-study program that offers students access to a full gamut of resources including educational classes, internships with technology companies or government entities, a centralized website to find opportunities, and competitions to secure scholarships and prizes for solving real-life, local economic challenges. Beginning in Panama, the program is expected to grow quickly, establishing relationships with universities near 4Sight's headquarters in Massachusetts, across New England, throughout the United States and ultimately around the world.

To further its initiative, 4Sight recently became a member of The American Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Panama (Amcham) to develop a program for other companies to participate in the program and provide students with internship opportunities, scholarships, and access to other educational opportunities across the Americas. The technology company is also collaborating with charitable foundations with similar missions, while looking to other universities, companies and government entities to promote growth of the program.
