The 2025 #GetOnBoard Week Honorees
Fearless Leader Award – Maggie Wilderotter, Board Director
Maggie Wilderotter is being honored for her profound influence on women in board leadership, having personally helped more than 700 people secure board roles. A seasoned executive, she has led both Fortune 500 companies and start-ups as CEO and has built one of the most extensive board portfolios in the country—serving on more than 35 public company boards and 14 private company boards, including Costco Wholesale Corporation, Sana Biotechnology, and DocuSign, where she currently serves as Board Chair.
At Costco, she has helped guide a board that continues to stand firm in its values, even under pressure, demonstrating that integrity and long-term vision are pathways to sustained business success. In 2025, Costco's Board of Directors "chose early and definitively to keep their DEI efforts alive," underscoring the company's leadership in aligning values with performance.
"From her very first board seat to her current stewardship across dozens of boards, Maggie has built a powerful legacy of mentorship and opportunity, helping hundreds of women ascend to board leadership," said Julie Castro Abrams, CEO of How Women Lead. "She proves that courage, commitment, and conviction can reshape boardrooms for the better. She exemplifies the How Women Lead Credo: be fierce advocates for each other and say yes to helping one another. We are thrilled to honor her at this year's #GetOnBoard Week."
Disrupter Award – Perkins Coie
Perkins Coie is a leading international law firm dedicated to helping clients solve the legal and business challenges of tomorrow. How Women Lead is honoring Perkins Coie for its principled defense of the rule of law and steadfast commitment to diversity, inclusion, and opportunity for all, which has set a benchmark for integrity in the legal profession.
Accepting the award on behalf of the firm is Sonia R. Farber, Partner at Perkins Coie, whose leadership exemplifies this commitment. Sonia's career has focused on advancing women leaders and founders, and when Perkins Coie acquired her practice three years ago, it amplified both her impact and the firm's investment in providing opportunities for diverse voices in the boardroom and beyond.
"At a pivotal time in our country, Perkins Coie's unwavering support of equality in access to opportunity—and Sonia's leadership in ensuring access to women and diverse founders to the forefront—show what true courage and vision look like," said Julie Castro Abrams, CEO of How Women Lead.
