- Proceeds from the Paul W. Smith Golf Classic benefit Think Detroit PAL, a nonprofit organization that services more than 10,000 youth in Metro Detroit through athletic and leadership development programs. The tournament has raised nearly $3.5 million since its inception in 2004.

/PRNewswire/ -- Tournament organizers announced today that the 9th annual Paul W. Smith Golf classic, benefiting Think Detroit PAL, has sold out.
Think Detroit PAL services youth in the city of Detroit through athletic and leadership development programming and the Paul W. Smith Golf Classic alone has provided $3 million net funds for TDP in the last nine years. This year's contributions from sponsorships and donations are reaching $3.5 million net.
"This tournament brings businesses and individuals together to support Detroit's youth, through Think Detroit PAL. The Paul W. Smith Golf Classic is the largest fundraiser benefiting Think Detroit PAL. The tournament connects Detroit area corporations with the largest nonprofit youth organization in the city.
