A Call for Collaborative Action: Achieving Readiness for a Value Payment World

SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, the Accountable Care Learning Collaborative (ACLC) released "A Call for Collaborative Action," challenging all health care industry stakeholders to unite in advancing accountable care across the country by sharing their own population health management solutions. The release was signed by eleven industry leaders, including: Don Crane, CAPG; Susan D. DeVore, Premier, Inc.; Elliott Fisher, Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice; Richard J. "The transition from volume- to value-based payments is inevitable. While many providers are learning how to adapt to this new world, the vast majority don't know how to proceed. The ACLC will provide a forum for collecting ideas from the industry and share them broadly," said Mike Leavitt, Co-Chairman, Accountable Care Learning Collaborative.

Over 70 organizations have already joined the ACLC and begun sharing their individual experience, beginning with an effort to identify and aggregate a list of care delivery competencies. Today's release presents the collective knowledge of ACLC members via seven competency domain area papers: (1) Governance and Culture, (2) Financial Readiness, (3) Care Coordination, (4) Patient Centeredness, (5) Quality, (6) Health IT, and (7) Risk Assessment.

As a next step, the ACLC urges leaders to share their lessons learned and support their efforts to continually refine competencies and create guidance for providers.

The ACLC will complement other industry collaboratives by providing unique and essential forums and services to accelerate the transition to value-based payment.
