A Wider Circle Launches New Web Platform, Announces 3rd Annual Gala
SILVER SPRING, Md., June 12, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A Wider Circle, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to helping children and adults lift themselves out of poverty today announced the launch of its new website, which can be viewed at http://www.awidercircle.org/. The new website for A Wider Circle was designed to enhance the user experience, better showcase the benefits delivered to local communities, and expand outreach to and interaction with donors and clients alike.
"This new digital and social media platform will go a long way in helping us spread the word and achieve our ultimate objective – to bring an end to poverty for one individual and one family at a time," said Dr. Mark Bergel, Founder and Executive Director of A Wider Circle. "We now have an even greater ability to connect with and mobilize our volunteers and donors, and better serve families in need."
The new website is streamlined to provide a higher level of connectivity, making it easier for a user to learn how to donate, volunteer or receive aid. The integration of our different social media platforms, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and Instagram, also helps us reach a greater audience. They broaden our reach by allowing us to showcase the tireless efforts of our dedicated staff and volunteers as well as share the successes of A Wider Circle – all in real time. The new website gives the public a more open and accessible means of communicating with us, as well.
We are also pleased to announce that we will be hosting our 3rd annual Community Ball. It is taking place October 25, 2014 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington D.C. The Community Ball is a great event – a fun opportunity to spread awareness about A Wider Circle's initiatives and raise money to promote the objectives of our work. For more information and to participate, please visit our website.
A Wider Circle believes poverty is the biggest issue facing our world today. Those living in impoverished areas face far higher rates of murder, disease, and incarceration than those living in middle- and upper-income environments. It is time we stop tolerating that. A Wider Circle strives to help children and adults pull themselves out of poverty; in 2013 alone, A Wider Circle furnished the homes of more than 15,000 children and adults and delivered more than 400 educational programs. Notably, our Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Mark Bergel, was named a 2014 CNN Hero. This award highlights the manner in which A Wider Circle seeks to bring a comprehensive and all-out effort to ending poverty.
