A#1 Air Donates $50,000 to National Breast Cancer Foundation
Metroplex's largest a/c company awards check at Texas Legends basketball game
FRISCO, Texas, Feb. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On February 6, 2016, the Texas Legends and National Breast Cancer Foundation teamed up for their second annual #LegendsPinkNight at the Dr. Pepper Center. The night was dedicated, to honoring survivors of breast cancer. At center court during halftime, James and Sherry Green owners of A#1 Air, awarded a $50,000 check to NBCF. The organization's CEO and Co-founder, Janelle Hail accepted the check and thanked the Greens for their generosity and ongoing commitment to the cause.
James Green's mother Sherrill was also present at the event. Sherrill is a six-year breast cancer survivor. "My mother means the world to our family, and we're so proud of her courage and victory over breast cancer," James said. "We chose to partner with National Breast Cancer Foundation because it's a fantastic organization that helps educate and empower women to take important steps for prevention and early detection."
During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month last October, A#1 Air committed to donate a portion of their sales to National Breast Cancer Foundation. They also created public service announcements that aired on major broadcast networks and radio stations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. And their social media channels promoted contests and activities that heightened awareness and included the hashtag #ComfortForACause.
As a result of their efforts, they raised the $50,000 awarded to NBCF at the game. According to A#1 Air Co-owner Sherry Green, "It warmed our hearts to be able to present this donation. We hope to partner with this awesome organization for many years to come."
