WASHINGTON, March 9, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) today announced the integration of the Peer Review Evaluation (PRE) service across the Science family of journals to provide readers with greater confidence in the integrity of the publishing process, and new insights into the peer- review of the articles they read, share, and cite.
All journals published by AAAS, including Science, Science Translational Medicine, Science Signaling, and Science Advances, will now feature the PRE "badge" on articles published in 2016 and beyond. By clicking the badge, readers can quickly see detailed information about the peer-review process, including the number of reviewers and rounds of review.
To increase the transparency of publishing practices, PRE also offers readers and researchers direct links to Science's peer-review policy and the industry initiatives that Science supports, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), The Equator Network, and the International Association of STM Publishers. These organizations offer important guidelines for the responsible conduct of research, and training resources for researchers in their roles as authors and reviewers.
