AAG Named 2018 Orange County Top Workplace

ORANGE, Calif., Dec. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- American Advisors Group (AAG), a leading provider of home equity solutions for retirement, has been named a 2018 Orange County Top Workplace for the sixth consecutive year by the Orange County Register, a three-time Pulitzer prize-winning newspaper. AAG's Top Workplace recognition is based on employee surveys conducted by third-party research firm, Energage. The annual program celebrates Orange County companies, organizations and nonprofits that "embrace an inclusive workplace culture that elevates each employee." Based on the survey results, AAG was ranked in the top 10 in the large company category.

"This honor is truly a testament to our dedicated employees," said Rebecca Pacillas, senior vice president of human resources for AAG. "Their commitment to helping seniors retire better and phenomenal devotion to our values pushes us to create the best possible work environment and company culture."

AAG is committed to building a purpose-based, high-performing culture rooted in the company's core values of Caring, Driven and Ethical. AAG accomplishes this through a combination of employee engagement, competitive compensation, and professional development. The company's employee engagement program, ProjectInspire, hosts appreciation-based social events throughout the year, such as town halls, bingo, ping pong tournaments, recreational sports teams, blood drives and holiday parties. ProjectInspire also partners with the AAG Foundation to host employee-focused fundraising events, including AAG's annual Comedy Night for charity.

Through the AAG Foundation, AAG empowers employees with volunteer time off, hosts events, and makes charitable donations. AAG employees clock more than 1,000 volunteer hours per year delivering food and conducting safety checks for seniors through Meals on Wheels and the Emergency Food Assistance Program.

AAG has a comprehensive internal ethics program that starts with the recruiting process and continues through new hire orientation and ongoing training programs. A unique feature of AAG's onboarding process is a "generation swap" exercise designed to encourage empathy for AAG's main demographic, senior citizens. During the training, employees are given a physical ailment and asked to attempt everyday tasks. AAG employees also have the ability to recognize co-workers who make a positive impact and demonstrate "awesome" behavior through the AAG Spotlight Awards.
