ABC of Greater Houston Celebrates Burton Construction's Outstanding Achievements in Construction
HOUSTON, Nov. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Greater Houston awarded Burton Construction for their Walker Engineering and Spring Valley Medical Plaza projects, submitted to the 16th Annual Excellence in Construction Gala. This prestigious honor was granted at the Wortham Theater in front of more than 300 fellow construction professionals.
Burton Construction submitted their projects to a panel of industry expert judges in August, and the winners were announced during the awards ceremony on Thursday, October 20, 2016, by guest emcee Spencer Tillman. Project categories range from commercial and industrial construction to interior renovations and historical restorations. The award not only praises remarkable feats in the construction industry, but also the project's safety record.
"Our members are not only committed to being the best in the industry, but also the safest," said Russell Hamley, ABC Greater Houston President. "More than one-third of a project's score is rated on safety, the awards are a testament to the nominees' commitment to a safe work environment."
Burton Construction's Spring Valley Medical Plaza is a concrete framed, six story medical office building with a below grade basement and parking structure. The also awarded Walker Engineering project, is a 30,000-single story tilt-wall office and warehouse. The site work for Walker Engineering included a detention pond, paving, and lift station.
