Notably, he has achieved patents for switching circuits using tunnel diode, multivariable modulation data communication and fiber optic data links. He is a published author, having written the book "Systems Effectiveness" in 1987 and more than a dozen articles printed in professional journals on system design, evaluation and effectiveness. In addition, Dr. Habayeb holds eight patents that resulted from his intensive research he has performed in his career.
Today Dr. Habayeb spends his time as a consultant for universities across the country. In addition, he is an adjunct professor for George Washington University, where he teaches a number of engineering courses. Previously, Dr. Habayeb found success as the radar and sensors SME at Landmark Technology, a senior systems engineer at OSI, as the director information technology and research professor for the electrical and computer engineering department at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. In addition, he was the tactical avionics manager, guidance and control manager, and command and control manager at the Naval Air Systems Command, dean of engineering; chairman electrical engineering department at Yarmouk University, senior scientist at ARINC Research Corporation, senior scientific advisor for ITT Industrial Laboratories, instructor in electrical engineering at the University of Kansas, and design engineer for Collins Radio.
Dr. Habayeb entered his profession because he wanted to be at the forefront of an emerging area of science. He loved the challenge it posed to the industry at the time. To prepare for his career, he earned a diploma in agriculture and education from Khadoury Agricultural School in 1952 and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Kansas State University in 1956. Thereafter, he attended the University of Kansas where he achieved a Master of Science in electrical engineering in 1959 and a Doctorate of Philosophy in electrical engineering in 1963. To remain at the top of his field, Dr. Habayeb is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Sigma Xi. He has been highlighted in Who's Who in Finance and Business and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
