A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts Raises $150,000 for the American Cancer Society®

BERLIN, N.J., Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- East Coast retailer A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts www.acmoore.com today announced that the company, along with its team members and customers, has raised $150,000 for the American Cancer Society.

All 141 A.C. Moore stores participated in the fundraising effort, which included a special Make & Take craft day and checkout donation program. This fundraising program is part of A.C. Moore's "Crafting a Better World" Program that helps local communities. Since its launch in 2010, the program has raised more than $1.1 million for not-for-profit organizations that provide services in the communities in which A.C. Moore stores operate.

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer^® initiative is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities to fund the fight. Making Strides walkers and supporters can be proud that their efforts are helping more than 2.9 million breast cancer survivors living in the US celebrate another birthday this year. Funds raised help the Society invest in groundbreaking breast cancer research, provide support 24 hours a day to those facing breast cancer, and ensure access to mammograms to women who need them.
