Acentia Appraised at CMMI Maturity Level 4 for Software Development

Company joins select group of CMMI 4 certified U.S. organizations

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Sept. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Acentia, a premier employer and provider of technology and management solutions to healthcare and civilian customers across the Federal Government, today announced that it has been appraised at the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 4 for Development for its software development and maintenance work in its Health IT sector. Acentia is one of only five companies in the United States currently appraised at Level 4 under the current standard.

CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal at maturity Level 4 indicates that the organization is performing at a "quantitatively managed" level. At this level, the organization and projects establish quantitative objectives for quality and process performance and use them as criteria for successfully executing and managing customer projects.
