Aclima Adds to Executive Leadership Team to Expand Commercial Adoption of Air Monitoring Platform on Heels of Historic Deal and Funding

With $27M statewide CA partnership underway, Aclima aims to bring hyperlocal data and measurement to additional governments, communities, and industry partners

SAN FRANCISCO, May 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Aclima, Inc., the pioneer in hyperlocal air pollution and greenhouse gas measurement and analysis, today announces five new leadership team members who will help drive business goals, including expanded adoption of Aclima's first-of-its-kind air monitoring fleet and measurement platform. The announcement follows the extension of Aclima's $40 million Series B funding and $13 million in contract financing from Leonid Capital Partners to facilitate the company's commercial rollout of Aclima's $27 million contract with CARB in its home state of California. Principals from impact funds Radicle Impact Partners and Plum Alley have also joined the Aclima board.

Milestone Moments: Funding & Commercial Traction
Herzl joins an elite group of female founders, and a small handful of Latina founders, to have raised more than $100 million. The funding has enabled additional commercial traction, including Aclima's completed study with NYDEC, which resulted in a new anti-idling enforcement initiative in New York State.

Aclima's advanced capabilities deliver block-by-block air pollution, greenhouse gas, and toxics measurement and analytics across entire states and the platform translates billions of scientific measurements from its sensor network into source-level environmental intelligence. Aclima directly addresses large societal issues at the intersection of public health, air pollution, and climate change. By providing hyperlocal data on air pollution and greenhouse gases, Aclima empowers regulators, policymakers, businesses, and communities to tackle these critical challenges with precision and urgency. The new leadership team members join Aclima at a pivotal moment as the company accelerates its mission to transform air quality and climate data into actionable intelligence, at unprecedented scale. The team will drive innovation across key departments, including Business Development, Finance, Engineering, and People. By strengthening operational excellence, advancing product capabilities, and fostering a culture of collaboration, the team is committed to pioneering innovative solutions that make clean air accessible for all, layering advanced AI technologies into the analysis of its unparalleled data set and broadening the applications and partners who will benefit.

New additions to the team include:

• Jennifer Chan, Chief Financial Officer - with over 25 years in the financial sector, Chan has led three venture-backed and private equity-owned startup acquisitions by publicly traded technology companies; built and scaled finance operations for multiple A-D round funded startups; and successfully raised over $200M in equity and debt financing. She specializes in scaling the finance or accounting function, fundraising, debt financing, and post-merger integration. As part of the executive team, Chan will work closely with Herzl and the Board to guide the company's strategic financial direction and strengthen Aclima's financial foundation.
• Trupti Devdas Nayak, VP Engineering - with over 19 years of experience in software engineering and a proven track record of building scalable, high-impact products for customers, Nayak has led high-performing engineering teams at major tech companies, including Amazon and Google, as well as fast-paced startups like Chegg and Quixey. Her focus will be on scaling Aclima's software product platform to meet the needs of cross-sectoral customers, partners and users; and on adopting an AI-first mindset to make cutting-edge updates to Aclima's sensor technology.
• Nickelle Presley, VP of Product - a dynamic, mission-driven product leader, Presley has a proven track record of driving innovation, delivering impactful products, and scaling high-growth organizations in the public sector. Previously serving as Senior Director of Product at GoGuardian, Presley delivered solutions that served over half the US K-12 student population and also worked as Oceans Project Director at The Nature Conservancy, leading innovative marine restoration initiatives. She will help to refine product strategy and drive the growth of Aclima's core product offering by leveraging market feedback and creating more accessible data.
• Kimi Flaxman, Head of People - Flaxman has led People strategy across the US, EMEA, and APAC. She has driven global initiatives to strengthen organizational health, modernize HR practices, and improve cross-functional collaboration. Flaxman has experience transforming early-stage HR roles into fully built-out People functions. At Aclima, she will focus on building People practices that are intentional, scalable, and aligned with Aclima's goals to support key hiring and culture initiatives.
• Ryan Kushner, VP of Business Development - a long-time climate technology pioneer with a deep network built over 15 years, Kushner has worked with hundreds of enterprises at various stages as an investor, mentor, and program partner. He created and built Third Derivative, an open, collaborative climate tech ecosystem that accelerates startups and moves markets, helping 225 startups to raise $2.5 billion. Kushner will lead all business development efforts at Aclima, working to define target markets and identify new leads across market segments.
