Acne Studios Signs with Centric Software

Hip Swedish fashion house aims to support rapid growth and improve collaboration with Centric Software PLM solution
Acne Studios, the Swedish high-fashion brand, has selected Centric Software to provide its product lifecycle management (PLM) solution. Centric Software is the leading PLM solution for fashion, retail, footwear, luxury, outdoor and consumer goods companies.

Acne Studios began in 1996, when founder and Creative Director Jonny Johansson made 100 pairs of jeans with unique red stitching and gave them away to people in the Stockholm art and fashion worlds. The jeans took off and today Acne Studios is a multi-disciplinary fashion house with 50 stores in 13 countries, including flagship stores in fashion capitals Paris, New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles and London.
Acne Studios had been using a custom in-house product data management (PDM) system to manage the design and production of their clothing lines but the rapid growth of the company soon outstripped the system's capabilities. In early 2016, they began the selection process to find a PLM system that would support their expansion as well as their creative and collaborative approach to design.

After a long selection process, Acne Studios selected Centric Software to implement its PLM solution. Acne were impressed by Centric's helpful, knowledgeable approach and the system's capabilities.
As Magnusson explains, "Centric is focused on fashion and retail businesses. They understand us as a company and we know we can build great things together. We can learn a lot from best practices and improve our processes from those learnings. Also, we don't have to customize the system. We can just use it straight out of the box and configure it as we like."
Magnusson emphasizes that Acne Studios positive relationship with Centric was key to their decision to invest in the system.
