Activewear Company Launches to Help Underprivileged Kids

ATLANTA, Oct. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Moshyn, a one-for-one activewear brand dedicated to empowering underprivileged children through wellness of the mind, body and spirit, launches today in conjunction with Children's Health Month. Founded by husband and wife duo Mathew and Lisa Moore, Moshyn offers premium clothing for active lifestyles that not only feels good, but also does good through the company's one-for-one model, which outfits children across the U.S. who need gym clothes and access to organized fitness. The first organization Moshyn will be supporting through its sales is Children's Restoration Network, a nonprofit agency that serves homeless children and mothers in Atlanta.

According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, nearly 15 million children in the U.S. live in households below the poverty line. Moshyn's purpose is to help these children by selling men's and women's ethically made activewear through its e-commerce site, www.moshynwear.com. For every item purchased, the company will donate a new gym outfit, including shirt, shorts and socks to a deserving child in the community through its nonprofit arm, Youth In Moshyn. Children who are outfitted by Moshyn also receive a small gift to pass on to someone in their lives, enabling and empowering them to pay-it-forward.

Inspiration for the brand comes from Mathew's adoptive mother, Merlanne Wood, a teacher who noticed some of her children could not participate in gym class due to the lack of proper athletic attire. Always willing to lend a hand, Mrs. Wood would use her own resources to purchase food and clothing for students who were in need, and personally deliver the items to them. As Mathew watched the example she set growing up, he dreamed of starting a company dedicated to helping children in his community.

Moshyn's first available activewear collection includes custom designed, eco-friendly t-shirts and tank tops. The designs promote the company's core values. Along with its online offerings, Moshyn also serves corporations, colleges, nonprofits and schools, teaming up with the organizations to create custom activewear for partnerships, events, fundraisers and more. Proceeds from the sale of the shirts go to Youth In Moshyn, which in turn supports organizations that work with underprivileged children, such as Children's Restoration Network.
