LAS VEGAS, Sept. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Adah Kennon recently retired after working for five years as a counselor at the college level and for thirty years as a licensed K-12 school psychologist. She is a performing arts professional who dedicates her time to helping those in the entertainment industry and has appeared in several local theatrical productions, as well as radio and television broadcasts. Her areas of expertise are in acting, voice-over acting, theater, radio, film, television, modeling, body building, event planning and more. Adah is the Chairwoman of the Events/Marketing Communications Committee for her local chapter of the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW). Adah is a member of the International Women's Leadership Association and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a member and motivational speaker with the Professionals and Youth-Building: A Commitment Program, sponsored by her local public school district.
Adah is the President of Media Guilds International, a non-profit organization providing opportunities for voice-over actors to broaden broadcast and non-broadcast skills. She appears weekly on the Vegas Voice Actors Show, a radio program where she serves as either host or co-host, and also presents a feature segment: Snips and Snaps: Your Voice-Over Guide to Health and Fitness. Furthermore, Adah is charitable towards local Las Vegas charities for the homeless and abused women. In her spare time, Adah enjoys traveling, gardening, reading, exercise, special event planning, hypnosis and writing. She also assists her husband, Dr. Walter B. Hammond (master hypnotist, stress management specialist, and owner of Development of Relaxation Powers).
Adah holds multiple advanced degrees in the areas of education and psychology. Throughout the course of her educational career, she earned a Ph.D in Philosophy from Union Graduate Institute, as well as an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California State University at Sacramento. Additionally, Adah received an M.A. in Educational Psychology from University of California at Davis, and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from University of Maryland, College Park. She completed coursework and workshops in acting, radio, television, and voice-over acting from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and College of Southern Nevada, along with formal training as a model in Northern California and Nevada. Adah has also assumed leadership roles in event planning and assisting with major conferences and meetings, galas, and trade shows. She is also a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and Academy Approved Supervisor through the National Academy of Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselors.
