Advanced Control Systems (ACS) names Kevin O'Hara EVP of Sales and Marketing

ATLANTA, Dec. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Control Systems (ACS), a global provider of smart grid solutions, has tapped former Siemens smart grid division head Kevin O'Hara as executive vice president of sales and marketing.

This move marks another significant 2014 development for ACS, which announced last week its recognition as a finalist for the TAG Smart Energy Society Company of the Year award. In March 2014, Falfurrias Capital Partners purchased ACS from Efacec, adding it to the North American T&D Group, a portfolio of energy technology companies slated for growth.

O'Hara, a 25-year utility industry veteran, assumed his new role at the Norcross-based company December 1. Under his leadership, ACS will implement sales and marketing programs aimed at aggressive growth — raising the profile of offerings such as the Centrix feeder automation platform and other solutions including SCADA, ADMS and substation automation systems used worldwide.

O'Hara comes to ACS after 22 years at Siemens. His most recent role was vice president of operations for the smart grid division in North America, where he drove operational performance of all smart grid division projects while managing profit and loss for the service and automation business units. O'Hara previously served Siemens as vice president and general manager of T&D services and as manager of strategic marketing in the power generation services business.
