Advocate Networks Industry Expert to Speak at COMPTEL PLUS Fall 2011 Convention
Marco Kuysten to Lead Data Center Panel Discussion
ATLANTA, Sept. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Advocate Networks, an Atlanta-based communications and IT consulting firm, today announced that Marco Kuysten, Managing Consultant with its Infrastructure Strategy and Planning group, will speak at the COMPTEL PLUS Fall 2011 Convention & EXPO, October 2-5, 2011, at the Gaylord Palms Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando, FL.
Moderating a panel discussion on the Data Center Build vs. Buy Model, Mr. Kuysten will examine the advantages and disadvantages of the different options available in today's changing environment including building your own data center, collocation options, and wholesale outsourcing. The panel discussion – which takes place from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on October 4 – includes representatives from zColo, PAETEC, Infinera and Equinix, and will cover individual decision analysis, lessons learned from choosing each option, how to plan and manage costs throughout the process, and how to align this decision with larger business goals.
Kuysten has 16 years of experience within the IT information and communications industry and global expertise in the development of business solutions related to enterprise data centers, network efficiency, IP telephony, wireless voice and data communications. He has executed over 100 projects for diverse clientele including McKesson, Verizon Wireless, Qualcomm, Heineken, 3M, and AOL.
"I'm looking forward to the event. In evaluating whether to build or buy a data center, it is imperative to look at more than just space and power," Kuysten said. "The cost of network, downtime and the entire ecosystem in data centers needs to be properly evaluated. On top of that companies need to make an explicit and conscious decision to be in the business of running a data center and ensure proper funding remains in place for the life of the data center."
