AES Tiete's Net Income Reaches R$ 160.5 Million in 2Q11
SAO PAULO, Aug. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AES Tiete S.A. (BM&FBovespa: GETI3 and GETI4; OTC: AESAY and AESYY) announced yesterday its results for 2Q11.

AES Tiete recorded net income of R$ 160.5 million in 2Q11, a year-over-year rise of 6.1%.
As a highlight in the period, AES Tiete was the winner of the 4th edition of Premio Abrasca de Criacao de Valor – Destaque Setorial 2011 – Energia Eletrica (ABRASCA Value Creation Award – Industry Highlight – Electric Energy), for the best value creation model in the 2008-2010 period.
The Company has remained focused on operational excellence and availability for energy generation in 2011, highlighting the R$ 169.0 million investment in the preventive maintenance and modernization of its power plants, as well as the conclusion of two SHPPs. In 2Q11, R$ 34.4 million was invested, mainly to upgrade the Nova Avanhandava, Ibitinga and Caconde hydropower plants.
In line with its shareholder remuneration practice, adopted since 2006, AES Tiete will distribute to its shareholders its entire distributable income as dividends in 2Q11.
