Affirmed Housing Group Celebrates Grand Opening of Arbor Green Apartments

CARSON, Calif., March 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On February 27, at 10:00am, Affirmed Housing Group celebrated the grand opening of Arbor Green Apartments. The event, located at 21227 S. Figueroa St., Carson, CA 90744, included speakers:

Arbor Green is an anticipated LEED Platinum certified three-story family community in Carson, CA that offers affordable housing to qualified families. Affirmed Housing Group partnered with the City of Carson to develop and manage the community, which features 40 apartment homes comprised of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, each with its own storage locker. Amenities include covered parking, a community room, a computer lab, a laundry room, a tot lot, and a barbecue area. Arbor Green staff will provide homework assistance, life skills training, and cooking classes in the community room for residents.  The affordable community will serve households earning between 30%-60% of Los Angeles County's AMI.

Key sustainability features include rooftop solar photovoltaic systems that collect and offset nearly 100% of the building's total energy usage, drought-tolerant landscaping that conserves 47% more water, efficient plumbing fixtures in every unit, 100% high efficacy lighting fixtures throughout the entire property, and 14 basic community resources that reduce the need to drive.
