KALAMAZOO, Mich., Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Aggregate Industries US (AIUS) (www.aggregate-us.com), a member of the Holcim Group (www.holcim.com), announced today that several of its Michigan facilities have received the Michigan Aggregates Association (MAA) 2010 Safety Award for outstanding safety records. The awarded AIUS sites include Wayland, Battle Creek, Chelsea, Sweet, Edwardsburg, Dundee, two Kalamazoo plants, and Plainwell. The 2010 Awards mark the second consecutive year AIUS has received the MAA Safety Award for each of these sites.
With the Safety Award Program, MAA recognizes members that encourage and promote a safe work environment. In order to receive an MAA Safety award, a plant must have zero lost time hours due to accidents during the year. The Safety Awards were presented at the annual Summer Meeting in July.

"Aggregate Industries US wants each employee to return home safely each day.
