SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Agora.io (www.agora.io), the global leader in real-time communications solutions, today announced the hiring of industry veteran Sid Sharma to lead its developer relations program. As Agora continues to scale its international team, Sharma's hiring reinforces Agora's commitment to building a robust community where developers can share knowledge and access the latest tools and resources to deploy real-time voice and video capabilities to existing apps and services.
Sharma brings to Agora a wealth of experience and expertise in serving the needs of high-tech developer communities. Prior to joining Agora, Sid led developer relations programs at Nexmo, where he greatly expanded the program's developer resources, and at CodinGame, where he grew its developer community to 800,000 members strong. Sharma also helped launch a free educational platform called Tech.io to aid the lifelong learning of developers.
"I am extremely excited to join the team because Agora's RTC technology and network are really cutting edge, years ahead of others in the space," said Sid Sharma. "I look forward to working with the bright people at Agora to increase brand awareness within the developer community."
With Agora's developer community swelling to more than 40,000 developers over a short two-year span, Sharma takes the reins of developer relations at a time when the use of live video is exploding worldwide and across all industries, from online dating to social media to e-commerce to gaming. As interest in RTC solutions continues to grow, Agora offers APIs that enable developers to add high-quality live video and audio to applications with only a couple lines of code.
"At this critical juncture in which the live video revolution is fueling the demand for high-quality and easy-to-deploy RTC solutions, I am thrilled that Sid Sharma is joining our team to help developers unlock the power of the Agora platform across so many businesses, industries, and platforms," said Tony Wang, co-founder and head of U.S. operations at Agora.
