AI Accent Translation Pioneer Sanas.AI Inc. Adds Newly Issued Patents and False Advertising Claims to U.S. Lawsuit Against Krisp Technologies
PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Sanas.AI Inc. ("Sanas"), a globally recognized pioneer in the development and commercialization of real-time accent translation and noise cancellation technology, has added three new claims to its ongoing litigation against Krisp Technologies, Inc. ("Krisp"). Sanas' original complaint, filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California on July 7, 2025, alleged that Krisp stole confidential information from Sanas, used that information to develop what Krisp rolled out as its own product, improperly filed patent applications using Sanas' information, and infringes six of Sanas' United States patents. Sanas' updated complaint retains all of those claims, and adds additional claims for:
- Infringement by Krisp of two patents recently awarded to Sanas by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, U.S. Patent Numbers 12,417,756 and 12,412,561, and
- False advertising in violation of both state and federal law.
Sanas' false advertising claims are based on knowingly false and objectively inaccurate statements made by Krisp about Sanas' accent coverage, technical performance and noise cancellation. The amended complaint alleges that Krisp's website and other statements ignore Sanas' market-leading capabilities for Latin American English, among other false statements, and deceptively compares Krisp's derivative product to a years-old version of Sanas' accent translation technology. Sanas provided Krisp with notice and an opportunity to withdraw the false and misleading statements, but Krisp continued to hold out the plainly incorrect information, leading Sanas to file the amended complaint.
Sanas seeks monetary damages, an injunction against Krisp and its products, and a legal declaration that Sanas is a co-inventor and co-owner of two U.S. patents improperly issued to Krisp alone, among other requested relief. Sanas has also filed a parallel suit against Krisp in India. That suit, admitted by the Court in India on July 25, 2025, alleges that Krisp's "AI Accent Conversion" product infringes on Sanas' granted Indian patent titled "Real-Time Accent Conversion Model," and that Krisp engaged in unlawful disparagement of Sanas' products.
