AI visibility platform Searchable acquires New York's Meridian in seven-figure deal

The UK's largest answer engine optimization (AEO) startup is expanding in the United States, acquiring Meridian's product and customer base.

NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Searchable, an AI visibility platform, announced today that it has acquired Meridian Tech, Inc. (trymeridian.com), a New York-based AI search visibility startup, in a seven-figure deal.

The move by Searchable, which launched in late 2025, is part of a further expansion into the United States as it also opens an office in Salt Lake City. Meridian's customers, which include APL, MedCline, and VKTRY, will migrate onto Searchable's platform, and the Meridian product will be folded into Searchable.

It is one of the first deals between two dedicated AI visibility startups, in a category known as answer engine optimization (AEO), which focuses on getting brands named and recommended inside AI-generated answers.

Searchable now works with over 1,000 brands. It tracks mentions, citations and comparisons across 10 AI engines, then shows companies how to get recommended inside them. Its corpus covers more than one billion AI citations and 400 million brand mentions. In May 2026 the company raised $14 million in seed funding led by Headline at an $85 million valuation, in a market projected to reach $10.7 billion by 2031.

Searchable's acquisition of Meridian adds high-quality U.S. accounts and a New York base from a company that launched publicly in October 2025.
