Both systems are designed to support high-quality ground truth data collection for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) development, testing, and validation workflows. By integrating high-precision SPAN GNSS+INS technology from NovAtel, part of Hexagon, they deliver accurate positioning, timing, and ego-motion estimation for reliable system evaluation. The aiMotive Rooftop Box additionally ships World Extractor-ready out of the box, providing a complete pipeline from raw sensor data to neural reconstruction and simulation-ready synthetic environments. Both solutions are packaged with aiMotive's in-house developed recording software, aiRec, featuring built-in live sensor diagnostics and monitoring to ensure precise synchronization and high-quality data.

aiMotive Rig

The aiMotive Rig is a compact, lightweight LiDAR-focused sensor configuration built on the Hesai OT128 LiDAR and the NovAtel PwrPak7D-E2 GNSS+INS enclosure. Its small form factor makes it easy to mount, relocate, and transport – deployable on virtually any vehicle platform with minimal setup time. aiMotive Rig delivers robust static world capture and high-precision positioning, enabling AI-based auto-annotation of the static environment, HD map creation, and lane-related function benchmarking – all natively supported by the aiData toolchain.

aiMotive Rooftop Box

The aiMotive Rooftop Box is a full multi-modal sensor suite combining a 6-camera Sony IMX728 array for complete 360° environmental coverage with dual Hesai LiDARs and the NovAtel PwrPak7D-E2 GNSS+INS enclosure. Like the Rig, the Rooftop Box is designed for easy installation on any vehicle platform. Designed for advanced testing and validation scenarios, it supports all aiData Rig capabilities. Additionally, it enables auto-annotation of dynamic actors, World Extractor neural reconstruction, and full ADAS/AD validation workflows.
