Akamon and Taringa! Reach an Agreement to Offer Online Social Games to 70 Million Users in Latin America

The exclusive agreement will give users of Taringa! in Spain and Latin America access to all Akamon's traditional social games

Akamon forecasts the doubling of a current 6 million registered users in less than a year, and expects to strengthen its leadership in Latin America

Akamon Entertainment Ltd, the international online social gaming company specialising in traditional games with portals in Spain, France and Brazil, has reached an agreement with Taringa!, the social networking content leader in Latin America, which has more than 70 million unique montly users, making Akamon the exclusive provider of online social games on Taringa!.

The deal will help Akamon to strengthen its expansion across Latin America, where Taringa! has been leading the market since 2006, with more than 17.5 million registered users. Vicenç Martí, CEO at Akamon Entertainment says: 'Strategic partnerships such as that achieved with Taringa! will allow Akamon to reinforce its leadership in traditional social games and presents a real challenge for us, as we expect to increase today's 6 million registered users to 12 million before the end of the year in a strategic geographical move for the company.'

Meanwhile, Taringa! strengthens its diversification strategy, offering new and improved features to its users, such as Taringa! Música. With this music streaming service with social components both independent musicians and record companies share their music with users, and with it Taringa! aims to provide a high impact definitive solution for music on the Internet.

A month after the launch of this service, which is still in its Beta phase and available to users by invitation, the portal will now incorporate Taringa! Juegos, in exclusive partnership with Akamon Entertainment. As a result of this deal between the two companies, Taringa! users can access the 30 games in Akamon's portfolio, most notably Chinchón, Parcheesi and Dominoes, and share their experience with the whole global gaming community. The games are free for all players in their basic version, and users who wish can subscribe for a Preemium service that includes rankings, the bazaar and special games rooms, all of which provides an even richer social experience. This Freemium model is geared towards all user profiles.
